Training Services

 

 

MECA provides many types of classes for our clients.  Below is a current list of classes.

 

¨ Asbestos 16-Hour Operations & Maintenance Training– this class is for all persons who may disturb limited amounts of asbestos in their facility or worksite.  The class covers information about they different types of asbestos, terminology, health effects, regulations, work practices and includes hands-on training for limited disturbance of asbestos. Class length-16 Hours.

¨ Asbestos or Lead Awareness-this class is for all persons who must be informed under the OSHA Hazard Communication standard about asbestos or lead hazards.  Class length-2 to 4 Hours average.

¨ Confined Space Training-this class is for all persons who must enter confined spaces or Permit-required confined spaces.  This class covers all aspects of the Confined Space regulation including identification of confined spaces, entrant and attendant duties and supervisory duties.  Class length-16 Hours.

¨ Electrical Safety (Lockout/tagout) Training-this class is for all construction trades who may contact energized circuits.  Class length-4-8 Hours average.

¨ Ergonomics Training

¨ Hazard Communication (HAZCOM) Training-this class is for all persons who use chemicals or perform work tasks that use potentially hazardous chemicals.  This class covers all aspects of chemical inventories, chemical labeling, Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS), safe chemical handling and more.  Class length-4 to 8 Hours average.

¨ Hazardous Waste Operations (HAZWOPER) Training-this class covers aspects of Incident Command System, hazardous characteristics of chemicals, toxicology, personal protective clothing, respiratory protection, regulations, chemical handling and emergency spill response.  Hands-on training is provided in this comprehensive class. Class length– 40 Hours.  Shorter classes are provided for First Responder (8 hours) or Emergency Technician (24 hours). Annual refresher classes are also conducted on a regular basis.
